Organisations as Organisms

One of the challenges of doing innovation work is having a way to talk about a thing” which makes sense to most people and it provides a way for a conversations that creates value. Analogies have been used in this context to help provide that.

What if he looked at organisations as organisms? Rather than talking about just goals, success, culture, structure, incentives — we talk about the health of an organisation.

Using the _health _metaphor discussions around growth, rest, balance, well-being becomes easier to talk and makes sense. I have tried this in my strategy chats and it has really changed the way people respond and the rich discussions we have.
