How do you make money? How do you help customers?

In the early days when Bezos was enabling the radical idea of customers to leave their feedback on the books on Amazon a publisher said Maybe you don’t understand your business. You make money when you sell things” in the context of negative reviews.

Bezos was thinking we don’t make money when we sell things, we make money when we help customers make purchase decisions”.

This is simple and brilliant. How do you make money? How do you help your customer?
